Speas Videos

We have a YouTube Channel!

These videos in the above playlist were captured between February and March of 2022 for our virtual IB Evaluation Visit. They highlight how, as an authorized IB World School, we use the Primary Years Programme's (PYP) framework to organize subjects into inquiry-based learning about significant concepts through units of inquiry.

Units of inquiry interweave subject areas such as mathematics, language arts, science and social studies. This approach encourages students to make their own connections between what they learn in core subject areas and how it relates to the world around them. The PYP is flexible enough to accommodate the demands of the North Carolina curriculum.

The IB PYP framework focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside.
